I love to tell stories.  Specifically, I love to tell

the stories of my life.  I’ve been lucky enough to find myself in all sorts of funny, touching and bizarre situations that have really shaped who I am.

My friends tell me it’s the delivery of my story telling that makes my stories so entertaining. And while it’s true, you won’t be able to see my hands contouring  into different shapes to drive home a point or my excitement rise as I get to the “good parts,”  I still hope you enjoy reading my stories and perhaps they will inspire you to find the humor,  kindness, courage and resilience in ordinary people.  I keep the stories short so enjoy them over coffee while taking a break from the daily grind.

This Blog is called I Shy at Him because when I was little (3-6) I really didn’t like talking to strangers.  If my parents asked me to “say hello to the nice lady” or even to a distant relative I would hide behind my dad’s leg, drop my head to the floor and simply say “I Shy at Him”  Even though I’ve made a living public speaking and making those from the geek to the socialite feel comfortable, I sometimes still wish is was socially acceptable to crawl behind the nearest person and softly say “I Shy at Him”.

I look forward to hearing from you
